SpineAustin in January 2008 became the first spine center in Central Texas to implant the new PRESTIGE® ST Cervical Disc in a patient.  Dr. Jason Lowenstein performed the successful surgery at Seton Medical Center on a 40-year-old executive who spent only one night in the hospital before returning home to recover.

Spine center first locally to use new artificial disc

An Austin spine center was the first in Central Texas to perform artificial disc
surgery using the FDA-approved Prestige cervical disc from Medtronic. The surgery was done by Dr. Jason Lowenstein, a fellowship-trained, orthopedic spine surgeon at SpineAustin, located at 3001 Bee Caves Road. Read the full article (new window will open).
