Laminoplasty
Laminoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to treat spinal stenosis in the neck. In spinal stenosis, the narrowing of the spinal canal puts pressure on the spinal cord and nerves, and this pressure causes neck and back pain. Laminoplasty removes the part of the vertebra covering the spinal canal known as the lamina. This enlarges the cervical spinal canal and thereby relieves the pain-causing pressure on the spinal cord and nerves.
